leagues
Shooting Stars Basketball Camp offers a variety of instructional and competitive basketball leagues each Spring and Fall for both boys and girls. The schedule of events may vary slightly from season to season based on availability of gym time. However the primary dates are rather consistent. Shooting Stars pre-season league runs for eight consecutive weeks during September and October. A post season league for most age groups is also offered for eight weeks in April and May.

The following is a brief description of both the instructional and competitive basketball leagues:

Shooting Stars Instructional Basketball League

is a professional program which combines expert skill instruction with league games weekly. Each of our eight week sessions will be divided into two parts. The first hour will be used to teach all of the fundamental basketball skills, rules and terminology. The second hour will be reserved to play the league game. During both league play and skill development, players will be grouped by age and will play against others with similar playing ability. All players, regardless of skill level will receive equal playing time during both league play and skill development.

Shooting Stars Competitive Leagues

are geared to those players who play for their respective school teams, Junior High through Varsity.

Prior to each game there is a 30 minute warm-up/organizational period with the assigned coach. Teams are required to play man to man defense the entire game. Games consist of two twenty-four minute halves and are officiated by licensed referees. Teams will be drafted and games will be played following all O.H.S.A.A. rules.
